I’ve been a professional journalist for more than 10 years, freelancing for magazines and newspapers around the country, stretching writing skills gained during years as a newspaper features reporter and as a magazine editor at an award-winning trio of regional magazines. In addition, I edit for an array of clients and write nonfiction books for children at a premedia company in Minneapolis. Check out some of my writing!

One of my passions is teaching writers. I offer classes — both virtually and in person — on creative process and writing and selling creative nonfiction. I offer classes for adults (frequently at the Loft Literary Center in Minneapolis) in addition to doing author visits for schools. I’ve got an essay class starting October 26th at the Loft!
